Peräkylä's Ponnistus is organizing the Beer Mile National Championship on Friday, August 26th at 6:00 PM at the central field of Pirkkola Sports Park. The rules are simple: run a mile, which is just over four laps around the track, and before the start of each lap, grab a beer. The fastest to finish wins, and there are two categories in the competition: Beer (Official) and Non-Alcoholic Beer, both of which are unisex. The world record according to international rules is 4:33.6 and the Finnish record is 6:48.
