The Raatte Marathon will be run on Saturday, August 16, 2025, along the Raatte Road, known for the legendary battles of the Winter War, from the border zone to the center of Suomussalmi. The historical marathon route features several battle sites and memorials from the Winter War. The purpose of the event is to honor the veteran generation that fought for the independence of Finland in the battles along the Raatte Road and to preserve the history of the Raatte Road.
