1. Full Moon Backyard Ultra Kymi

Backyard Ultra is an ultramarathon race where competitors run a 6.706-kilometer route within an hour. The race continues as long as several runners are able to complete a lap in under an hour, and the winner is the one who runs one more lap than the others. The route is either a circular loop or a back-and-forth course, and the starting area remains the same throughout the competition. There is no predetermined end time, which makes it particularly challenging and exciting. In Finland, Backyard Ultra races are organized in collaboration and the sport is actively developed.

Start announcements are given 3, 2, and 1 minute before the start. Participants must not leave the route during a lap, except for bathroom breaks. Runners must be at the starting area at the start time, and the starting area remains the same throughout the race. External assistance and aids such as poles are not allowed. Slower runners must give way to faster ones. Lap times are measured optionally. The event includes trail running on forest paths, and participants can use toilets, showers, and shelters. The start takes place at Alakyläntie 67 in Kotka, and the route is approximately 6.7 km per lap.
